Slamming at once

Hi Captain Eric here and I have been meaning to post lately but I have been kinda slacking. I have one good story that I have been holding on to for about a month now and I feel I should share it. I took a group out that caught not only all of my favorite species but at the same time. The group started out their morning by catching some nice Black drum, Snook, and Reds. They were having a great day and the fish were really turned on by both of our offerings of shrimp and white bait. Then something I have never seen before took place right in front of me. One young man hooked a baby Tarpon about 20 pounds and while I was tending to him another fellow hooked up and landed a Snook. The third gentleman was also fighting something and to my amazement he landed a good sized Red fish. We released the Snook and then released the small Tarpon. A Grand Slam simultaneously. That was awesome. All fish were returned to to there homes and should be there for the next go round.

Snook and Reds are "red hot"

This past few weeks the Snook fishing has been on fire. I have never seen as many keeper sized Snook go back. It is like the biologists at the F.W.C. have put the word out that it is safe for the big fish to bite. Clients on my boat are not complaining even though one of the best fish in the world is off limits for a while. They just fight to well to complain.
The Reds are still cooperating and I love getting people into a slam. The night tarpon bite has been hot and the big beach fish just started to show up. Although we need some good calm mornings to target them. I can't wait!

Recent reviews

Capt. Eric:
We truely enjoyed our fishing extravaganza. I want to thank you for putting us on fish really quick. In the 4 hours I think we only had about 1 hour of slow time. Cam(18), Luke(17) and Myself(old) did not stop talking about it all night.
We will surely give you a call on our next trip to the Sarasota area.

Hello Capt Eric

Thank you for a great trip and helping me catch 18 fish. Mommie gave me the $18 and she made 3 different meals for the trout we brought home. The trip was the best part of my visit to Florida. I would like to live here and go fishing with you every day.
Hope to see you again soon.

Cool T-shirts

Hi this is Captain Eric and the spring fishing has turned on. My guests have been nailing big Sea Trout,Pompano,Snook,Red Fish and many other species. I have a been amazed with the size and availability of the Red fish and Trout and I am really excited for the Tarpon run that is lurking. I think my luck is attributed to my new logo shirts provided by http://www.customink.com.
I love my new shirts and let me know if you would like to have one. I can use the help spreading the word that Drag-on Charters is working hard to catch the "Big One".

Directions for pick up at Ken Thompson Park

Below I have set attached a link to the directions to Ken Thompson Park. If you simply add your address almost perfect directions will appear. The last part of the puzzle is finding the boat ramps which are on the right hand side of Ken Thompson parkway where you see a "boat ramps" sign and a red " Hospital" sign.

Virgin Blogger

I wanted to share small bits of information about my daily life to my friends and clients and I have been informed this is the hip way to go about it. I am excited and unsure how my blogging will turn out but I am going to give it a try.
Today like most days I was very hungry and felt I should fill my belly with something new. I took a look in the fridge and saw a recently opened large can of tomato sauce. I thought to my self how would that taste with some fresh fish and veggies. I decided fish stew was something I had not made before and sounded iteresting. I used a large covered wok to prepare this dish. I finely cut up some garlic, onion and celery and sauted it for a few minutes in olive oil along with salt and pepper. Then I added on large can of tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, thin sliced yellow squash, fresh basil, parsley and small mushrooms. At that time I also dropped about a 1/2 pound of thin sliced Cobia and 4 big scallops. I also added a pinch of garlic powder, pinch of red pepper flakes and a pinch of thyme. I let that mixture simmer for about 30 minutes and then added two cups of cooked rice to savor the flavor. I was very pleased and so was my friend Red.
